GaldesignBot

GaldesignBot is the crawler of Galdesign, a startup building a smart sourcing platform for interior designers. Designers search furniture, lighting and decor across many stores at once, by size, material, finish, color and stock, and every result sends them to the store's own page to buy. We don't sell anything ourselves.

What it reads

Public product pages and the product lists stores publish for crawlers (sitemaps and product feeds): a product's name, sizes, materials, finishes, options, price, stock and lead time, and the address of its photos. Photos are shown from the store's own address with a link back to the product; we don't host copies of them.

It never places orders, fills in forms, or collects anyone's personal information.

How it behaves

Every request names it: GaldesignBot/1.0 (+https://galdesign-app-production.up.railway.app/bot; product search for interior designers)
It obeys robots.txt, including Crawl-delay, and follows a group addressed to GaldesignBot over the one for every crawler.
It waits at least 1.5 seconds between requests to the same site, and longer when a site asks.

Keeping it out

Add this to your robots.txt, and GaldesignBot stops reading your site from its next visit:

User-agent: GaldesignBot
Disallow: /

To keep it out of part of your site only, list those paths instead of /.

Retailers: we'd rather use your feed

If you run an affiliate program or can share a product feed, we would gladly read that instead of your pages: it is fresher for designers and lighter on your servers.
